OUR INNOVATIONS
AERIALCAT™ STEEL-SAFE™ LADDER
When working at any height, crew safety is a top concern. That’s why the AerialCat Steel-Safe Ladder design and construction features extra strong Domex® steel with a truss structure that employs square, not round, extrusions. That means longer welds around every joint to deliver added strength. It also allows our ladders to have a longer reach, while maintaining a 2.5-to-1 safety factor, the highest in the industry. Elevating safety and strength, the AerialCat Steel-Safe Ladder is engineered to perform precisely and relentlessly protect your crews.
EZ-MRS™ AERIAL MAINTENANCE REDUCTION SYSTEM
We engineered our EZ-MRS to facilitate maintenance on KME aerial apparatus. The bolt-on egress section can easily be replaced if damaged. With the adjustable swing drive motor, you can recalibrate over time to ensure crews have pinpoint accuracy for aerial maneuvering. The greaseless sheave wheels and easy-to-replace Nylatron® wear pads remain cleaner and resist corrosion. An open underside design provides full access to ladder components. We know keeping your apparatus in top condition must be a priority. The EZ-MRS will help you do just that with ease.
FLEX-FORM™ BODY
Engineered with your choice of formed metal, blended with a matching extruded subframe, the Flex-Form body construction delivers more compartment space in the same overall length to store all the essential gear for the job. The single-formed wall construction allows compartments to be 6″ to 8″ larger than the door openings, providing additional storage space over the entire body; 3″ x 1-1/2″ tubing adds toughness into the subframe—strength and space all in one uniquely constructed body.
SSX™ CHASSIS
A severe service fire truck needs to withstand the rigors of the toughest jobs, in the toughest environments. The KME SSX chassis (Severe Service Xtreme-duty) is ready to respond every time. With a custom-designed cab and chassis, it delivers strength and resilience, whether you’re called to rugged offroad terrain or the unforgiving city streets. The SSX chassis features the largest frame rails in the industry. The doors are robustly built to ensure proper fit, opening and closing, with added strength, providing extra bracing that supports the entire cab and enhances safety. Engineered from the ground up for ease of service, the SSX cab is capable of tilting 90° for easier engine compartment access.
