GETTING TO KNOW NAFECO


Corporate History 
North America Fire Equipment Company, Inc. (NAFECO) was founded in 1968 by Jerrell Oaks.  It began primarily as a service business, providing fire extinguisher services to local factories and businesses.  It has developed throughout the years into a full line distributor of Fire, Police and EMS apparel and equipment as well as being a distributor of KME Fire Apparatus.  

NAFECO headquarters is located in Decatur, Alabama with nine (9) branch offices located in the Southeastern United States.  We inventory many of our products in the Decatur, AL warehouse for immediate shipment.  We pride ourselves not only on the apparatus, equipment and services that we offer, but also in the care and service that we give to our customers before, during and after the sale.  We want to ensure that our customers receive the equipment that is desired and the service that they deserve.  We have an inside sales staff that works diligently on a daily basis to promptly process orders and answer any questions that our customers may have.
 
From fire extinguishers to fire apparatus, NAFECO has you covered.  Our Fire/Rescue Division supplies Fire, Rescue, and EMS departments across the US and abroad with the equipment, service and expertise needed to protect property and lives.  We service everything we sell including fire extinguishers, SCBA’s, fire hose, rescue tools, fire apparatus, and much more.

SERVICE AFTER THE SALE


As part of KME’s and NAFECO’s commitment to the fire service, we have an ongoing quality assurance program to ensure our apparatus give you good service for many, many years.  

This program involves continuous evaluation and testing of materials and designs plus analyzing and evaluating comments we receive from the end users. NAFECO, in Decatur AL, is KME’s nearest parts and service center to your location. NAFECO is set up to handle most of your warranty claims at the end user’s facilities. With, three (3) mobile service units, EVT Certified Mechanics, and a 24 hour emergency line, we strive to give all KME users the best service in the Industry.

Mobile Service Vehicles
We have three mobile service vehicles. Each vehicle is less than three years old. Each mobile unit carries parts and equipment for most standard repair operations. This includes wiring and accessories most commonly used lights, fasteners, diagnostic equipment, valve repair kits, pump parts, mounting equipment and accessories, routine maintenance items, and much more.  
 
EVT Certified Mechanics
Each of our mechanics is EVT certified, KME certified, and have certifications for major components on the apparatus such as the pump. Each of our mechanics has over five years experience repairing fire apparatus, with our most experienced mechanic having over ten years experience.
 
Service Center
Our service center is located in Decatur, Alabama. The service center has three dedicated truck bays with other bays available in case of high volumes. Each bay is heated, fully protected from the weather, and is secured during off hours. We stock a large volume of parts and accessories for KME. Most standard items can be delivered from our Decatur office with less common items being shipped from the KME factory.
