Anchorage Alaska Adds More KME’s to Fleet

9/21/2015
Nesquehoning, PA – KME is pleased to announce that the City of Anchorage, Alaska is adding three additional pumpers to its fire fleet that already contains a substantial number of KME trucks.

All three units feature a 100” KME PredatorTM Severe Service cab and chassis with seating for six, RollTek occupant rollover protection, Zoll road safety system, rear air ride suspension, and Cummins ISX-12 450hp engine.

Two units are a 4x2 configuration while the third is a 4x4 utilizing the EZ Trac hydraulic all-wheel drive system. KME was the first apparatus manufacturer to deliver this system on a previous truck to Anchorage. The EZ Trac is the only system of its kind that can be engaged or disengaged at speeds of 20 mph or less, does not require the addition of drive lines or transfer cases and does not raise vehicle height or alter the factory turning radius. (See KME's EZ Trac Video)

The apparatus also includes a 1500gpm single stage pump, Hades 20,000 BTU pumphouse heating system, Class A & B foam system, 750gal Water / 20gal Class A / 40 gal Class B foam tanks, light tower and hydraulic ladder rack.

All units were purchased through KME’s HGAC contract which strives to make the governmental procurement process more efficient by establishing competitively priced contracts for goods and services, and providing the customer service necessary to help its members achieve their procurement goals. Contact KME for more information on how to maximize your purchasing power and minimize unnecessary administrative costs during the acquisition process.
